    Family Camp Arizona Style

    Greetings from Family Camp in the mountains of Arizona. The Payson First Baptist Church is camping, and I am speaking in the evenings. I thought I'd share a few pictures from today. Oh, some are from last night's camp setup.

    Bible Inspiration Poem

    This poem introduced my message on the Inspiration of the Bible this last Sunday morning. Some requested the words. Here they are. I memorized this poem in college and have never forgotten it. -Pastor Ben

    This Is the Greatest Book on Earth

    This is the greatest Book on earth;
    Unparalleled, it stands;
    It's Author God, it's truth divine,
    Inspired in every word and line,
    Tho' writ by human hand.
    This is the volume of the Cross;
    It's saving truth is sure;
    It's doctrine pure, it's history true,
    It's Gospel old, but ever new,
    Shall ever more endure.

    And this blessed Book I'd rather own,
    Than all the gold and gems
    In ever a monarch's coffer's shown,
    And all their diadems.
    Nay, were the sea a chrysolite,
    And the earth a golden ball,
    And diamonds all the stars of night,
    This Book would be worth them all.

    For no soul ever found relief,
    In glittering hoards of wealth.
    Gems dazzle not the eye of grief;
    Gold cannot purchase health.
    But herein a perfect balm appears,
    That heals the deepest woe;
    And those who read this Book in tears,
    Their tears will cease to flow.

    For feelings come and feelings go,
    But feelings are deceiving.
    That's why my warrant's the Word of God,
    Naught else is worth believing.

    And tho' my heart should feel contemned,
    For want of some small, sweet token;
    There is One Who's greater than my heart;
    Whose Word can ne'er be broken.
    And so I'll trust in God's unchanging Word,
    Till soul and body sever;
    For tho' all things shall pass away,
    God's Word shall stand forever.

    For you see, I find my Lord in the Bible,
    Wherever I chance to look.
    He is the theme of the Bible;
    The center, the heart of the Book.

    He's in the Book's beginning;
    He gave to earth its form;
    And He is the ark of shelter,
    Bearing the brunt of the storm.
    The ram upon Mount Moriah;
    The ladder from earth to sky;
    The scarlet cord in the window;
    The serpent lifted high;
    The burning bush in the desert;
    The budding of Aaron's rod;
    Wherever I open my Bible,
    I see the Son of God.

    He is the seed of woman,
    The Saviour virgin born;
    He is the Son of David;
    Who men rejected with scorn.
    His garments of grace and beauty;
    The stately Aaronic deck;
    And He is a priest forever,
    For He is Melchisedek.

    The Lord of eternal glory,
    Whom John the Apostle saw;
    The light of that golden city,
    The Lamb without spot or flaw.
    The Bridegroom coming at midnight
    For whom we His people look;
    Wherever I open my Bible,
    I see my Lord in the Book.
